The Blue Ridge Resource Authority is seeking a Director to oversee all operations of the BRRA Regional Landfill. Located in scenic Rockbridge County Virginia, near historic Lexington, the facility provides solid waste disposal services for a population of approximately 36,000. Under the direction of the 7-member Blue Ridge Resource Authority Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of landfill management, including maintaining compliance with state and federal agencies, oversight of a 10-member staff in a team environment, thoughtful and effective collaboration with Board members, staff, customers and colleagues, strategic planning for dynamic solid waste and recycling solutions and careful management of a $2.4M annual budget. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business or Public Administration, or related field, and/or experience in business leadership, human resources, accounting, project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other special requirements include: ability to obtain Class I & II Solid Waste Operator's License issued by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation within six months of hire, and a valid Virginia driver's license (commercial preferred)).
