Guest Services Manager
Virginia Safari Park is looking for an experienced, energetic and enthusiastic person to manage the Guest Services department. This is a full-time salaried position. Virginia Safari Park is the #1 Tourist Attraction of the Shenandoah Valley with matching levels of retail sales. The park operates in a very fast-paced atmosphere with a focus on guest satisfaction.
This position requires a professional appearance and demeanor, following our company guidelines, along with past experience in customer service.
  • Manage departmental assistant managers
  • Hiring and scheduling for all seasonal gift shop, admission, snack bar
and wagon tour attendants
  • Experience handling high volume admission ticket sales.
  • Experience orchestrating retail sales operations.
  • Experience managing food services operations.
  • Experience overseeing crowd control type activities including but not limited to; parking, line cues, and directing foot traffic.
  • Overseeing the group department for schools, groups and corporate events bookings.
  • End of day cash handling and deposits.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Point of Sales systems 
  • Weekends and holidays (March-October season) are required. Flexible off-season scheduling (November-February)
  • Maintain monthly reports for Director and CEO.
On-the-job training is provided for Park specifics as needed, but ideal candidate must bring equivalent experience to job requirements.  Ideal candidate must be physically able to move, walk, stand, bend, lift 40lbs and check on multiple guest service outlets throughout the work day. Must follow personal and company uniform dress code requirements and maintain a valid driver’s license. Virginia Safari Park is a smoke-free environment.
