Job Description
PROGRAM COORDINATOR  -  RARO

Do you like working with young athletes?  Do you like sports? 

The City of Lexington is accepting applications for a fulltime program coordinator at RARO. 

Incumbent would be responsible for planning and coordinating RARO youth athletic programs in Soccer, Girls Basketball, Mighty Mite Basketball, Tee-Ball, Rookie League Baseball and Girls Softball. Individual would also be responsible for recruiting and engaging volunteer coaches for each program, coordinating field reservations, field setups and preparations for all assigned programs and preparing practice and game schedules for assigned activities.

Applicant should have a thorough knowledge of the methods and practices of youth recreation organization and implementation as well as recommended rules and game administration for appropriate youth sport activities for boys and girls ages 5-13. Applicant will also be responsible for training, planning, scheduling and supervising the work of dozens of part-time employees.
Applicant must have displayed satisfactory and successful supervisory experience preferably in a youth sports program environment while displaying strong problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively. Applicant must be able to perform all physical aspects of the position including being mobile, bending, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must also be able to actively participate in youth sport games/ activities.

Salary range:  $33,000- $37,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The city offers a very competitive benefits package.
