SUMMARY:Victory Chef Cook-Off
DESCRIPTION:The Marshall Foundation and the Lexington and Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce are partnering to offer a "Chopped" style cook-off featuring three area chefs in competition for prizes and bragging rights as the winner of the first annual Victory Chef Cook-Off.\n\n\n\nEach chef will be given a mystery basket of food items that were readily available in the US during World War II and will create an entr e using every item in the basket\, including SPAM. In addition\, there will be made available to the chefs a limited pantry of additional items. Chefs will be able to bring certain food items to supplement their dishes but will also be given a listing of prohibited foods   items that were NOT available during WWII.\n\n\n\nSPAM and Coca-Cola giveaways\, a victory garden display\, a 1940s 'compleat' kitchen display\, a silent auction featuring 4 numbered Norman Rockwell Coca-Cola prints\, mystery appetizer contest\, WWII era food objects and advertisement exhibit and more\, will be available in the hall as the chefs work their magic.\n\n\n\nLocal Executive Chefs:\n\nJenny Elmes\, Full Circle Catering\n\nNathan Fountain\, Mano Tanqueria\n\nGeorge Huger\, Southern Inn\n\n\n\nSpecial Emcees:\n\nJohn Stallard\, Chef & Owner\, Chefs Catering\n\nJim Fiala\, HMVET Co-Chair\, Hormel Foods Corp.\n\n\n\nExpert Judging Panel:\n\nMatt Paxton\, The News-Gazette\n\nCol.
